Gateaux de voyage - aka - Travel Cake

The French call it by the elegant name Gateaux de voyage, but here in Stoke I’m calling it Travel Cake. The title might be a little less romantic but the taste is just as delicious. These cake bars are the perfect treat to take on a journey with you, whether to enjoy later with a pic-nic, take on a distance to a friend, or to enjoy in a lay-by with a flask of tea, they won’t disappoint.

Two generous bars of my signature sponge cakes coated in either white, milk or dark chocolate or a sugar syrup or marzipan depending on your flavour choice, to keep them deliciously fresh when out on a journey.
