The Best wedding venues in Staffordshire

If you’re looking for a beautiful wedding venue in Staffordshire you’ll be pleasantly surprised. There are an abundance of wedding venues in the gorgeous Staffordshire countryside, fitting most budgets and requirements. Below are some of my favourites.

Sandon Hall - If you’re looking for timeless elegance and more than just a touch of history then Sandon Hall is the perfect venue. This venue has the most beautiful conservatory for your ceremony as well as the option for an outside event if the weather allows. A grand hall for the wedding breakfast and elegant bridal rooms to get ready. I love to create floral inspired cakes for this venue, and I always suggest going for the more elegant and even eccentric styles to fit with the grandeur and history of the building.

The Ashes Barns - I’m a little biased when it comes to The Ashes as I got married there myself way back in 2012. The venue is a beautifully converted barn venue surrounded by rolling hills and farmland. They even have their own gang of oh-so-cute highland cows. Since my wedding there have been lots of changes at the Ashes, and they now have wonderful on site accommodation with a 5 bedroom country house, separate shepherd huts and coach house. The staff are friendly and welcoming and will do everything to make your day special. The barns are modern but stay true to their rustic roots. When I’m designing a cake for couples choosing this venue I often advise keeping the rustic feel of the venue in mind, semi naked style cakes are very popular but a more traditional fondant cake will look equally as beautiful.

Foxtail Barns - Sticking with the barn theme but with a totally different feel we have Foxtail Barns. Foxtail is a newly built modern barn style venue. With a sunlit ceremony room your wedding guests will be happy to enjoy, to the high ceiling of the wedding breakfast barn this venue is perfect for those wanting plenty of room to dance. The venue is situated next to the gorgeous Tawny Hotel which I know my previous Foxtail couples have enjoyed for their wedding anniversaries. Foxtail is modern and suits many different styles of cake, most of my couples like to have a 3 tier cake to serve 80-100 guests and neutral and green tones seem to be the order of the day, and suits the greenery that is dotted all over Foxtail.

Alrewas Hayes - Yes it’s a mouthful to say and your granny will ask you to repeat it several times but Alrewas Hayes is such a beautiful venue that it’s worth the tongue twister. I delightfully presented country house with marquee wedding breakfast area overlooking a large pond perfect for photos. Alrewas also has the unique grand wedding barn that can accommodate larger weddings, holding up to 650 guests. The cake styles are endless with this stunning venue, with lots of couples choosing elegant pale designs to suit the light filled marquee. With larger weddings taking place in the grand barn we can really push the boat out and go big and bold.

Thorpe Gardens - This venue will blow your socks off. If there’s one thing the Cripps and Co team know how to do it’s create stunningly beautiful wedding venues. I’m more likely to be seen at Grangefields in Derbyshire one of their other breath taking venues, but Thorpe Gardens is as delightful as it sounds. With a 200 person capacity there’s room to dance the summer nights away. This venue has one of the best yurt style ceremony rooms going, so if relaxed boho is your thing then this is the perfect wedding venue for you. I advise a relaxed folky style wedding cake for this venue with a difference, or how about a dessert table for guests who like to mingle and graze?

The Mill Barns - This grand barn style venue is an impressive size. With sky high ceilings this is a barn venue with impact. The halls are full of natural light and needs little styling to make an impact. The Mill Barns really is the venue for those wanting a modern barn style wedding but with all the elegance that you’d get from a traditional church venue. As with all of the ‘Best day ever’ venues this barn can showcase all styles of cakes.

Colshaw Hall - Colshaw is one of my favourite venues to deliver to, it’s always elegantly set up with romantic music playing in the background, I don’t know if their team never sleep but it seems that no matter the time I deliver there’s never a napkin or chair drape out of place and never a sole running around in a panic, serenity is the key. This sophisticated venue allows for a highly styled cake with all the trimmings, go wild with pearls, bows and glitter to bring even more opulence to this perfectly on pointe venue.
